Meet Our New Rector

The Reverend Michael Kurth, Eighth Rector of St. David's Episcopal Church

The Reverend Michael Kurth is a priest in the Episcopal Church.  Father Michael was born in St. Louis, Missouri and has lived on the East Coast for his adult life, mostly in New York. He graduated from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music in 2018, where he was awarded the John A. Wade Prize for greatest originality in expository preaching.  Father Michael's ordained ministry began as a curate in Rye, New York, and he spent the past five years as associate rector at Christ Church Christiana Hundred in Wilmington, Delaware.  Father Michael brings with him experience and passion for pastoral care and worship, Christian formation, newcomer ministry, and preschool leadership.  He resides in North Wilmington with his wife Sara (a Wilmington native), children Henry (3) and Clara (1), and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Cozy.  Beyond his passion for his family and the Episcopal Church, Father Michael enjoys keeping up with his favorite sports, and is a fervent fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Cardinals, Liverpool Football Club, and Indiana Hoosiers.
