Have you ever thought the 12 Steps were just for alcoholics and addicts? Well, here is your chance to find out that they are for everyone! Starting on Tuesday, October 6th, we will be going through each of these steps in a twelve-week program to learn how working the steps can bring you closer to your higher power and to discover how similar these lessons are to those taught by Jesus. We will be using Fr. Richard Rohr’s Breathing Underwater: Spirituality and The Twelve Steps as our guide. Copies can be purchased through Amazon or other booksellers, or we have some available for sale when we meet. This will be our second time through the steps, and it is open to those who were with us this spring as well as newcomers. We especially encourage anyone who may never have thought themselves eligible candidates for a 12-step program. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6 from 6 to 7pm in the Great Hall and we will continue for 12 weeks, culminating in Step 12 during Christmas week.

Sunday Morning Adult Formation begins on September 20 with two study opportunities. Adults will gather at 9am in the Great Hall for coffee, light bites, and a time of prayer. At 9:10am participants will choose one of two options – Christian Theology & Prayer with Father David Andrews or The Gospel and the World: Contemporary Bible Study with Father Michael. At 10am we will conclude and head to 10:15am worship (or home if you attended 8am worship!). Childcare will be privided during this hour. Christian Theology & Prayer - St. John of the Cross: Night of the Spirit Beginning in late September we will conclude our year-long exploration of the theology of St. John of the Cross (1542-1591) with the second half of his The Dark Night of the Soul. If you have questions or if you are seeking a way to begin or renew a life of prayer, please join us this fall. We will meet the second and fourth Sundays in October and the beginning of November (9/27, 10/11, 10/25 and 11/8) from 9:15 to 10am. We will continue to use a our guide the very accessible translation by Mirabai Starr. The Gospel and The World: Contemporary Bible Study The Gospel and the World is a Bible study led by Father Michael during Adult Christian Formation Hour, on Sunday mornings throughout the program year. Topics will change, but will consistently seek to explore scripture’s relevance in our daily life. Our goal is spiritual growth! Our first topic will be Faith and Artificial Intelligence. The study will provide space for participants to share their dreams and fears of AI, while exploring what scripture tells us about creation and humanity's responsibility as God's image bearer and co-creator.

Needles of Creation is the official parish needlework and craft group at St. David’s. The group meets year-round on the Second and Fourth Tuesdays of each month at 4:45pm in the Memorial Room. The group is open to all needleworkers and crafters (or those who love the needle arts and crafts) and new participants are welcome at any time. In addition to individual works, the group shares skills, patterns and ideas to create special projects for the parish and community. All are welcome at any time and if you would like to participate, bring your favorite craft project to one of our scheduled gatherings. Contact the Parish Office with any questions.

Women’s Spirits is a fellowship for all women to share thoughts on a wide range of topics. All are invited to propose and/or lead a topic of interest, but it is not requred that you do so. There is always lively conversation, and you are free to share your thoughts and experiences as desired. Bring a beverage and enjoy the snacks provided. The group meets on the second Saturday of each month at 10:00am in the Memorial Room, from September through June. The first meeting of the 2026-27 season was on Septmeber 12, but all are welcome at any time. Topics suggested for this season include Atonement, Christian Charity, and What Makes a Good Christian/Episcopalian. We will expand the agenda as topics are suggested. Wisdom Seekers is the Parish’s book study group. Members meet weekly on Tuesday mornings from 10 to 11:30am from September through May, via Zoom. Participants buy their books from their favorite booksellers or online from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, or other vendors. From September 15 through October 6, Wisdom Seekers will be reading and discussing When The Emporor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka. This novel focuses on how ordinary Japanese-American lives were shattered by fear and racism during World War II. It explores the loss of identity, dignity, and home when an innocent family is forced into an internment camp in Utah. The discussion leader is Tom Deschaine. All are welcome to join at any time.
